ACTS 17:22-34

When Paul or others ministered primarily to God-fearing Jews or Greeks (in Jerusalem and elsewhere) they assumed they knew their Bibles well and understood the storyline and other "inside info". But in Athens (Acts 17:22-34) Paul doesn’t quote Scripture or assume they know the God of the Bible. Instead he finds common ground with them, quotes their poets, and challenges their faulty thinking and idolatry so that the Good News of Jesus is specifically understandable and captivating to them.

In short, we believe our culture today is more like Athens than Jerusalem.
