Building Campaign FAQS

Got questions? We’ve got answers.

how we got here?

The story of Athens is a story of God moving and working in the lives of many!

  • Justin and Jen felt called to move their family of five to KC to plant a new church even though church planting had never been in "their plan."
  • Covid happened (enough said!).
  • The school we had spent 6 months securing, to meet in, canceled our contract because of Covid restrictions.
  • Garretts landed on Merry Moments (which meets in this building) for their youngest's preschool.
  • 2.5 year-old church plants almost never have the opportunity to buy their “forever” building…yet that’s the situation God has blessed us with.
  • And now we’re excited to put down roots permanently as we know 6601 NW 72nd St. will be our permanent home.

We could go on, telling story after story of how God has planned for, created, and built up Athens Church, and we're excited for the next step he has put before us.

how this helps our ministry?

No local church HAS to own a building in order to do work for God's kingdom, yet having a permanent home opens doors to ministry that we hope to walk through. We plan to steward the building, using it as a tool to share the Gospel with more and more people in the Northland.

how you can give?

Sometimes God's plans and steps don't make sense in the moment. Moses with a speech impediment. Gideon's army being whittled down so they could be victorious. Jesus' disciples were largely uneducated and not who we would probably choose... But "sometimes Jesus just does stuff." He seems to be doing that now with Athens.
